The AIT RRC.AP participated in the 2nd Regional Workshop Series: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs” (3RproMar) at Prama Sanur Beach Hotel, Bali, Indonesia on 22 May 2023. ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA). Ms. Mae Jordaine B. Diopenes presented the Know Waste Knowledge (KWK) Platform, AIT RRC.AP’s contribution to the project, during Session 1: Introduction of the 3RproMar Knowledge Partnership for Marine Litter Prevention in ASEAN. She noted the current role of AIT RRC.AP in the region in general and highlighted the key features of the platform.

Mr. Solomon Huno gave his reflections as part of the panel during Thematic Session 2B: Leveraging Behavioural Change, Communication Strategy to Improve Waste Management and Drive the Circular Economy.

The kNOwWaste Knowledge Platform was developed through a Project Cooperation Agreement funding by UNEP on 2016. The platform provides data and information on holistic waste management to stakeholders in Asia and the Pacific region. The platform was developed with the following aims: generate and consolidate data or information on holistic waste management, transform data into easily comprehensible outputs for use by key stakeholders, map out and disseminate information on international waste management projects under the GPWM and UNEP projects as well as other international partners, and provide capacity building support through dissemination of data or information support for relevant stakeholders on holistic waste and waste management system.
